Frequently Asked Questions

Strut cards are countertop displays with a foldable kickstand on the back, ideal for retail promotions and signage. This FAQ covers card weights, sizing, and durability.

A strut card has a triangular flap on the reverse, hinged with a perforated crease, that folds out to act as a kickstand. The strut props the card up at a slight backward angle so it stands stable on a flat surface.
On slightly textured surfaces (cloth tablecloths, carpeted shelves), yes. On very uneven surfaces or polished glass, they can slide or tilt, choose a slightly heavier card weight (1000mic+ board) to add stability.
Yes, strut cards can be used as freestanding or wall-mounted displays. The strut folds flat against the back when not in use, and the card can be tacked or taped to a wall without removing the strut.

Practical limit is around A1. For larger countertop displays, switch to a wider freestanding board or an easel-backed display.
A5 (148mm x 210mm) is the standard for café table displays, large enough to be readable from any chair around the table, small enough not to dominate the table surface. A6 is a more compact alternative for small tables.
Retail counter promotions, café tables, hotel reception desks, hairdresser stations, beauty salon counters, and trade show booth tables. Anywhere you need a self-supporting, eye-level message on a flat surface.

For repeated handling or wet environments (cafés, beauty salons), yes. Lamination protects from spills and keeps the print looking fresh.
Plain strut cards last 4–8 weeks in normal use. Laminated versions can last 6–12 months or more.

Front side only is standard, that's the customer-facing surface. The reverse is mostly hidden by the strut.
1000–1200mic (typically 350–450gsm equivalent) is standard. The card needs enough stiffness to support its own weight without the strut overworking. Thinner cards sag and look unprofessional after a day or two.
Standard turnaround is 5–7 working days, including the additional die-cutting step for the strut hinge. Express options are widely available. Plan ahead for laminated versions, which add another day for drying.
